NHS Foundation Trust
The NHS Foundation Trust that manages the hospital in our region, which includes Chippenham Community Hospital, want to hear your views on their service and what you would like to see in the future.
They’re inviting people to become a member and as such you will be invited to a variety of events, where you will get to meet governors and various members of staff and learn about what they do at the Trust and what they are planning in the future.
Members' views and interests are represented by the Council of Governors, who are a group of elected and nominated people. They challenge the Trust Board on their decisions, to ensure that people receive the best service.
The Council of Governors are keen to hear what you have to say about your experience of the Trust.
Who can become a Member?
Anyone who is over the age of 12 and is resident in the constituency areas can become a Member. Members of Staff are automatically made Members of the Trust on appointment (they can opt out if they wish).
Why become a Member?
• Have a greater say in the running of services
• Elect a Council of Governors to represent views to the Trust Board of Directors
• Receive updates from the Trust
• Be invited to attend exclusive members events
• Be invited to take part in focus groups to help shape services
• You could also stand to be elected as a Governor of the Trust.
If I join the Trust what will I have to do?
You can do as much or as little as you like. Some members stand to be Governors, attend Members events and contribute by asking questions or sending emails. Other Members prefer to simply receive information. It is up to you.
