Chippenham Christmas Lights Switch On and Winter Festival

The biggest evening event in the Chippenham calendar will occur on Saturday 29th November.

Thousands of people will descend on the town to see the arrival of Father Christmas and join in the festive fun, organised by Chippenham Town Council.

The lights will be switched on at 6pm, in the Market Place.

There will be a Community Fair in the Neeld Hall from 4.30pm, with a host of Christmas Stalls lighting up the High Street.

There will also be the opportunity to check out the Christmas hampers & gifts, local food products, calendars and the town's biggest selection of charity Christmas Cards for Good Causes at the Community and Information Centre in the High Street.  The Chippenham Museum & Heritage Centre will also be open late.

The lights switch on is just part of a two day Festival with FREE PARKING in all Wiltshire Council Car Parks in Chippenham.

Saturday sees a traditional Christmas market throughout the High Street until 8pm. A Community Fayre in Town Hall from 10am—6pm and stalls in Emery Gate. Various street entertainers throughout the day, local choirs and dancers and Winter Arts Trail.

Father Christmas will tour the High Street in his sleigh pulled by his Reindeer to his grotto in Emery Gate. They’ll also be Fun Fair Rides on the Island.

Sunday sees a Winter Food Festival in the High Street, Tea Dance at The Constitutional Club and early evening Torch lit procession to the Buttercross for Carol singing at the Christmas Tree.
