Chippenham company shortlisted for prestigious national award
A Chippenham business has been shortlisted for a prestigious national award in recognition of its work to provide cleaner and greener energy.
Good Energy is in the running for a Which? Award in the category of Sustainability Brand of the Year, the consumer champion’s first ever such honorary award.
It recognises Good Energy’s long-running support of renewable sources to combat climate change.
The business purchases electricity from 1,700 independent generators across the UK, providing wind, biogeneration, solar and hydroelectric power.
It has also led the fight against ‘greenwashing’, where companies make misleading claims about their green credentials.
Good Energy was founded in 1999 and now employs more than 250 staff at offices on Monkton Hill, with more than 270,000 customers.
Its support for renewables was recognised last year when it topped the Which? Eco Providers table comparing the sustainability of energy suppliers.
