Companies across Wiltshire are being encouraged to take advantage of free workplace mental health support that is helping employees stay well, remain in work and build healthier workplace cultures.
The Wiltshire Working Well programme, funded by Wiltshire Council, provides both preventative mental health training and early intervention counselling support for people who are employed or volunteering and may be experiencing challenges that could affect their wellbeing at work.
Preventative services are delivered by Rethink Mental Illness, which offers free, practical and evidence-based workplace mental health training courses designed to increase understanding, build confidence and reduce the stigma associated with mental health conversations at work. The organisation delivers a mixture of open and closed courses each year, including Mental Health First Aid and training for managers and leaders.
The offer is available to employers, employees, volunteers, managers and HR leads with a particular focus on micro businesses and small and medium sized enterprises, sole traders and self-employed people and workforces who may not otherwise have access to mental health support.
Open sessions can be booked by individuals or small groups while closed sessions are arranged for a single organisation that can be tailored to need and can be online or in person.
There is also access to an early intervention service delivered by Help Counselling. If you are working in Wiltshire, you can access up to eight fully funded sessions with Help Counselling Services. Sessions can support with anxiety, stress, low mood, bereavement, loss, and relationship difficulties. Appointments are available face-to-face, online, or over the phone.
